Connections

Our house is officially up for sale now. We are furiously painting, trimming and cleaning everything. There has been some real interest in it from buyers too. We decided to go ahead and list it when the Wegren family generously offered us their house to live in if ours was to sell before we moved. The Wegren's come home every summer and return to teach in South Korea every school year. I have mixed feelings about actually selling the house. I am more attached to it than I thought. My parents have owned the same house since I was born and I envisioned our house as a place our grandchildren would visit one day too.

The Wegren family is just another example of the "connections" God is throwing at us. We attended a camp with our church's youth in June. The message of the week was Konnekt. They spoke about how God connects the dots in our lives until he has produced the picture and purpose he wants for us. The past year has been full of so many connections and coincidences that it's impossible not to believe God is at work.

There were two girls at camp, Sam and Megan, who decided to make bracelets and sell them to raise money for our move. They sold all of the bracelets they had and made about $300, enough to pay for the furnishings in our new place. They are now planning a volleyball tournament to raise money for our airfare. It will happen on Labor Day (Monday, September 5) at Sunset Hills Pool. I so excited to see teenagers partnering with us to make a difference and do something big in this world! They aren't just giving a donation to a charity, but making an investment in God's kingdom. We won't know until we get to heaven all of the connections our lives made and how much of a role we played in God's larger story.

We decided to break down our budget needs according to categories. We are currently at 50% of what we need to GO! The only items left on our start-up budget are:
vehicle ($10,000)
housing deposit (about $1,500)
We have heard from others who want to host fundraisers this fall to work on the rest of the goals.

We are also at 40% of what we need on a monthly partnership basis!!! Let us know if you have a church that would be interested in meeting with us. We are still looking for ministry partners to come alongside us. We only have about 4 months left before we go and I know God will bring it together in his perfect timing.
