I love this verse, but it is one I've not been very good at putting into practice. I recently learned that "be still" also means to "cease striving". I like to do lists and knowing that I'm working towards a goal. I believe God is trying to teach me, through this whole process, to be still and wait for him to bring everything together. It sounds easy, but for me it's not really that simple. God is showing me that our move to Nicaragua and our ministry won't be because of my planning abilities or our incredible teaching skills, but because he made it happen. Our move date is set for January 2012 and we are making preparations, but mostly we are trying to trust God and just be still.
The moving sale and the Chik-Fil-A family night were both huge successes! Thank you to everyone who came out and supported both events. We are planning some more fundraisers for later in the summer. Details to come...
We leave next week for orientation, training, and to be officially ordained at Missionary Ventures International's headquarters in Orlando, Florida. We will be there for almost 2 weeks taking classes every day and learning all that we need. In July, we will be in Michigan for the first two weeks of the month. It will be a great time to see our families before we move There are a few churches up there we will be speaking with too. Please pray for us as we present our vision to these churches. We had our first experience being "the missionaries" at Glenview Baptist last Wednesday night. It was a lot of fun and I realized that I'm not at all used to that title yet.
Our church, the Summit Church has finished their budget meetings and confirmed the amount that they will be supporting us as we get started. We are now at 34% funded for our start-up cost and at 27% pledged support for our monthly costs!! God is bringing it all together and I can't wait to see what will happen next.
My job is winding down with the end of the school year, but Cory has been given twice as much design work as usual. It amazes us the way God provides what we need exactly when we need it.
