And if our God is for us, who can ever stop us...

It's September 1st today and it reminded me of last September when Cory was heading down to Nicaragua for the first time. I can't believe it's only been a year since last September. Our lives have changed so much in the last year and it feels as though we've lived several years in that time span. I tend to focus on how much we have to do yet, but it's good to stop and think about how much we have already done and how close we are to actually being ready to go.

I was talking with some other people in missions who have been doing it for a while and I was surprised to find that most of them do not have enough funding on a continual basis. I had thought there was a magic formula you followed to do this kind of thing, and once you did it you were all set to go about working for God wherever he sent you. I'm realizing that it's all about faith, even once you officially leave. God comes through for them every time, all over the world.

We are seeing real examples of that now. Almost weekly, we run into a problem that we don't know how to deal with. It's amazing how God always provides a solution and takes care of it. This is good training for later because I'm learning not to stress about anything. Maybe I'm just getting desensitized to stressful situations, but I know He will work it out every time.

In the past two months alone, we have gone from being 40% funded on a monthly basis to being 60% funded. A portion of that is due to our church, The Summit, partnering with us monthly and committing to support us on a continual basis now. We only need about 20 ministry partners who will commit to supporting us at $25, $50, or $100 a month.  Our ministry partnerships now include 5 churches, in addition to many close friends and family. If you would like us to speak to your church, please let us know. We would be more than happy to meet with them.

I really believe we will go in January now. Everyone who knows me well and has heard me talking for the past year, knows that I've been saying January is our goal, but it will probably be a year or two from then realistically. I can't believe it really IS going to happen in just a few months.
